The Joys of Camping!

Went camping, kids came home for weekend. I should stop at camping. It's over-rated. 9 hours to Bryce Canyon ---- oh! beautiful -- but -pack-up,
 drive forever,
set camp,
cook food,
get saturated with scenery,

just horrible torture! walk to bathrooms in the middle of the night,
too many people at National Parks in the summer - Though 1 in 10 visiting might be born in the US -whatsup with that?? Lots of eavesdropping on French and German conversations! It is beautiful to listen to another language. Determined to learn another language!

Made friends

break camp - try and set personal records for setting and breaking camp!
drive forever, get car sick,
un-paaaackkkkk evvveeeerrryyytthinnngggggg
and wash it!
collapse exhausted into bed and sleep for a day to rest up from getting away from it all!

There should be awards for getting dressed and undressed in tents. ***

My father had a thought on camping, besides not liking it. I mean how can a guy raised in Wisconsin -- camping, fishing, hunting! Cheese! not like it. But in his wise words that I did not heed: Why go far away from home to sleep on the ground, eat cold food and get eaten by bugs?  Can't argue with that logic.
